The View host, Whoopi Goldberg has revealed she can no longer drive as her eyesight is failing making it impossible to properly see the road.
The 63- Year old was speaking to actors, Kumail Nanjiani and Dave Bautista from the movie Stuber and she talked about how she doesn’t use an Uber but has a driver.
‘I have a driver. The reason I have a driver is because I am not allowed to drive,’ Whoopi Goldberg said
‘My sight is not good enough, people get nervous when I get behind the wheel. So, I am not allowed to really drive.’ she added.
Recall that she claimed that she was lucky to be alive following a serious health scare.
Whoopi Goldberg also lent her voice to the controversy surrounding actress Scarlet Johanssen after she was quoted as saying she should be able to play any character she wants.
This had been met with serious backlash with people claiming that white people had stolen enough roles from people of colour and people of different sexual orientation.
Whoopi Goldberg for her part tried to explain the history of role stealing and that Johanssen should have been more sensitive.
“I understand why people were in it,” Goldberg said. “But the reason we don’t do it anymore is because we don’t have to. Black people exist, Asian people exist, white people exist, transgender people exist. … This is a new branch of acting. We didn’t have transgender actors 25 years ago that we were aware of. We did not know.”
“They want to play the parts they can get,” she added. “We all want to be great actors and we can all play whatever we want to play, because that’s our job. But people who haven’t had the opportunity really want to catch up. But they have to be good.”
