Idris Elba is without a doubt, one of the sexiest men alive and with that, curiosity about his life and likes is common. You might have to worry no more.
The actor took a lie detector test for a Vanity Fair interview which is part of their August issue and there he spoke about a variety of subjects including his take on the backlash he faced when he was being considered to be the next 007 and how even after all his success, the work still finds ways to make him vulnerable.
He stated that he found it unfortunate that people seem to think he can’t take on the Bond role simply because of his colour.
“And then if I get it and it didn’t work, or it did work, would it be because of the color of my skin? That’s a difficult position to put myself into when I don’t need to.”
Idris Elba did point out that even with all the difficulty, the role of James Bond would still be one he’d be interested in playing, “James Bond is a hugely coveted, iconic, beloved character, that takes audiences on this massive escapism journey,
“Of course, if someone said to me, ‘Do you want to play James Bond?,’ I’d be like, ‘Yeah!’ That’s fascinating to me. But it’s not something I’ve expressed, like, ‘Yeah, I wanna be the black James Bond.’”
Idris Elba, not really known much for his comedic side, has hosted Saturday Night Live and it’s an experience he said was very different and one that also made him tap into an area he doesn’t usually have to.
“It was fun. It was really hard work—honest, hard work.” he said.
“I found that, you know, the more I just plugged in, and jumped headfirst in, and just exposed myself and my insecurities to anything, the better it was for me as an experience,”
