What happens when one of Africa’s global comedians meets an African global recording artist? African greatness, that is what happens.
Following his late night debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last month, Burna Boy made his latest late night appearance on Trevor Noah’s The Daily Show recently to discuss his latest album, African Giant, the famous Coachella font incident that inspired the name of his album and several other topics about himself.
On his outburst over the Coachella poster in January, he said;
I am looking for my name and I can’t find my name. I am like – am I really performing?
They had to circle it for me. That’s never happened to me before. I am used to being the African giant.
I didn’t like it and I expressed myself. Not just for that but so, everyone that comes after me won’t have to go through that.
It’s only right.
Dressed in a multicoloured striped outfit, a pair of glasses and a neck full of diamonds while rocking his signature braids, Burna Boy also took the opportunity to tell a funny anecdote about how he first came across Trevor Noah while on a boat ride in South Africa.
After the interview, the afro-fusion singer hit the stage to perform a medley of his hit singles “Ye” and “Anybody.”
