Watch Burna Boy Tell The Nigerian Story In The Visuals For “Another Story”

Burna Boy Another Story video

Burna Boy’s 5th studio album, African Giant has unarguably been one of the best to come out of 2019, locally and internationally. The album presented the afro-fusion star the opportunity to feature on two of the world’s best late night shows – Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah – and as expected, Burna Boy did not dissapoint.

The 19-track album has been lauded by many for its unique storytelling and sweet melody. Infact, one of the tracks that caught the public eye was “Another Story” – the tenth track on the album and it features Ghanaian rapper, M.anifest.

Another Story tells a brief history of how Nigeria was under the colonial rule of Britain at the beginning of the 20th century as a result of a business transaction between a colonial government and the company we all now know as “Unilever”.

Now, just some few hours before Nigeria’s 59th Independence anniversary, Burna Boy has dropped the visuals for Another Story out of the sky.

Directed by Clarence Peters, the video depicts Burna Boy riding on a horse and leading the audience through what appears to be a revolution where cars are being burned and people are protesting. Periodically, the video cuts to scenes where individuals are wearing blindfolds with various tags including “colonialism”, “corruption”, “politics”, “fear” and “greed”.
