Uti Nwachukwu has come out to retract the statement he made when he declared Cee-C as the most successful Big Brother Housemate from last year.
Following this, he had suffered backlash from Nigerians who felt that his statements were insensitive and possibly destructive.
Uti has now issued an apology, stating that he meant no harm with his words.
“Alright. To those offended, calm your nerves, no games meant. When you are proud of someone, you give all of the accolades you can especially when you remember all the bashing you went through for your support.” he said
“So let me rephrase and edit: CeeC is one of the most successful housemates of BBNaija 2018.” he concluded.
This came after another former Big Brother housemate, Princess also came after him on Instagram, posting on her page: “I felt that as a former housemate, he should know better than to outrightly quote a comparison. It’s just unnecessary. Most housemates have gone through a phase of depression, insecurity and regrets and they also have moved past it and gotten stronger. You cant come to start this unspoken trivia now,”
Another BB Naija alumni, Ifu Ennada also hit out at Uti, although her’s was a lot more cheeky stating that she would have to give him N5 million and get an endorsement to be deemed to be a successful BBN alumnus.
Cee-C herself had been grateful for Uti’s words and had responded to his initial post saying: “@siruti Brother! You are a blessing. Thank you ?? For showing me love, your support and above all, a glimpse of God through your actions. Thank you! Whoever has you in their corner is successful. We must ball forever!”
It is hoped that the apology from Uti would go some way in hurting any bruised egos and that it is accepted by his fans too.
