Nigerian musician, Timi Dakolo, has given his thanks to the public for their immense supporting following allegations made by his wife against a Pastor.
Busola Dakolo, had in an interview claimed that she was raped by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth Of Zion Assembly (COZA) twice when she was 16.
This had led to public outrage which culminated into a protest held in both Lagos and Abuja against the COZA pastor calling for him to step down and for an investigation to take place.
Timi Dakolo on his part has not only thanked Nigerians, but has also revealed a new initiative with which to properly combat rape cases emanating from the church.
The initiative is a website, notinmychurch.ng which according to their page said,
The church is a place where we grow in our relationship with God.
The church is a safe place.
The church is a hospital where we go to find help and solace on our journey through life.
The church is a place of empowerment.
The church is a place of love.
The church is home.
For those who have been abused – mentally, physically and emotionally – from authority figures in the church, you are not alone.
Tell your story, speak out, get help.
You deserve to be whole – our God would have it no other way.
Stand tall. Do not be afraid.
Day by day, God gives grace.
Hurt, sad, bitter, angry, regrets, jealousy, rage, pain ….. God meets you where you are.

We have partnered with The Joy Hub to have therapists on standby to help you. Once we have spoken to you we will schedule physical or online consultancy sessions for you.
Timi Dakolo also provided an email address for people who have valid claims to step forward and tell their stories so that more and more people can be held accountable.
The website also has a blog which has stories and reactions from prominent men of God including Pastor Tony Rapu, Fela Durotoye, Godman Akinlabi and so on.
Timi Dakolo has long been a very vocal critic of the perceived immunity of men of God in Nigeria and with this case which is so close to home, we can see his reasons and we hope for a favourable conclusion.
