Timi Dakolo is singlehandedly taking on some shady pastors breaking a tonne of tables along the way and leaving controversy in his wake.
The singer has never been shy to tackle controversial topics on his Social Media, regularly speaking out against practices that he does not believe is right.
More recently, Timi Dakolo seems to have zeroed in on the church, calling out pastors whom he says are taking advantage of female congregants and sleeping with them and in some cases, even outright raping them.
While he has so far not mentioned any names, the pastor many believe he is referring to is Biodun Fatoyinbo who is the founder and head pastor of The Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).
The pastor was in the news a number of years ago after it came out that he had an affair with Ese Walter. He admitted an apologized.
However, this hasn’t stopped a trail of accusations following him.
In a series of posts, Timi Dakolo spoke out on the matter saying that church should be a place of healing rather than a place to be broken.
“Church is supposed to fix broken people and not crush people who show up in church needing God,” he said in one of the posts.
“DEAR AGGRIEVED AND AGGRESSIVE CHURCH MEMBERS, PLEASE USE THE SAME ENERGY YOU ARE USING TO CALL ME, AND THREATEN ME OR SLIDE INTO MY DM TO SEARCH FOR THIS VICTIMS AND ASK THEM WHAT REALLY HAPPEN.THAT IS WHAT JESUS WILL DO.” he added.
There have been rather big reactions to the topic, but he has gotten some rather good reactions with some people also speaking out against some other pastors.
It’s one thing to be hearing whispers, it’s another to know the names, friends and families of victims. This is why someone like Timi Dakolo couldn’t keep quiet. When it hits you, you’d be evil to stay quiet.

I don't know what's going on between Timi Dakolo and COZA but I know one thing, whatever he said the pastor did: pic.twitter.com/Dk2laX6BiE

Some Nigerians are of the opinion that the #COZA pastor should be left alone and that if he is guilty, he will eventually get tired and repent by himself. Others, however, feel that the allegations should be taken seriously. @timidakolo ??♀️

Going through the COZA & Timi Dakolo tweets you'll realise how appallingly religiously naive the Nigerian mind is. A man of God can literally kill a child & you'll hear "touch not my anointed" "nobody holy pass" "leave it for Holy Spirit".
YOU PPLE ARE DAFT & DISGUSTING.

My take on Timi Dakolo vs COZA.

The issue is hugely divisive and you can be sure it’s far from over. It will be interesting to see what happens from here, but if there’s anything to come from this, it is hoped that these allegations at least start a conversation amongst Nigerians about our pastors, their responsibility to us and how we approach them moving forward.
