Ever get confused by colour names like i do? Midnight Blue, Yellow Ochre, Maroon, Death Black…and now we have Targaryen Red
Okay, so maybe Targaryen Red isn’t an officially recognized colour, but it’s one that was (and is) very important to Game of Thrones, especially the Lannister and Targaryen houses.
We don’t see it much in the earlier seasons, but it made a return in season 7 especially the episodes that had Daenerys in Dragon Stone with Jon Snow.
Emilia Clarke decided to give us some of this Red in real life showing up at the Time 100 gala in New York City last night in a beautiful Red sheer dress and a silk waistband.
The dress is from the Dolce and Gabbana’s Fall 2019 roster which came out in February.
The actress is on Time’s list of 100 most influential people this year.
The Game of Thrones star has been incredibly brave, revealing recently that she suffered two brain aneurysms and that for a time she feared she would suffer from brain damage and speech impediment.
“With the first one, it was difficult, but with the second one, I found it much harder to stay optimistic,” she said in an interview with CBS Sunday morning.
“For a very long time I thought it was my ability to act, it was a very, very deep paranoia.
“What if something has short circuited my brain and I can’t act anymore. It’s been my reason for living for a very long time.”
She even revealed that part of her brain did indeed die and that doctors had to insert titanium into her head.
“So, they [the doctors] literally were looking at the brain and being like, ‘Well, we think it could be – could be her concentration, it could be her peripheral vision,’”
We’re glad that Dany is up and running and slaying us with her Targaryen Red.
