The Heineken Lagos Fashion Week 2019 – Beyond Creativity

This year, the theme for the Heineken Lagos Fashion Week 2019 is “Beyond Creativity” and lots of celebrity guests will be on the runway walking for some designers.

Over time, Africans with Nigerians as a case study has taken kin interest in  fashion as regards the way it was before. The focus for the Heineken #LagosFW2019 is to look at designs that are beyond imagination, something completely different.

The Heineken Lagos Fashion Week started with a launch party on the 4th of October in which the line up of events for the show were outlined. Activities varied from Fashion Business Series hosted by “She Trades” aimed at encouraging women and the skills to apply in business to Creative Academy Workshop, The Fashion and Cultural Exchange from Africa-Japan, Runway Show and of course the after-party.

The Heineken #LFW officially kicked off on the 21st October 2019 with a masterclass while from 24th to 26th, emerging designers will put out their designs on display which will involve a large gathering of designers, fashion lovers, as well as the experts from all over the world to view the season’s collections in Lagos.

What made 2019 a peculiar one at the Heineken #LFW, is the fact that 6 emerging designers from Africa and Japan will have the opportunity to participate in the Fashion and cultural Exchange between Africa and Japan, an initiative by Awa’Tori.

The runway show kicked off today with the likes of Toke Makinwa, Ike Onyema, Perri Edwards walking the runway for different designers.

Currently, the show is ongoing at Balmoral Convention Centre Federal Palace, Lagos State.

Heineken #LFW is a marketing opportunity handed to emerging designers to showcase their creativity, and beyond.
