Wale Aladejana, who is the CEO of Sapphire Time, has come out to apologize for statements he made regarding Busola Dakolo and COZA Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo.
He had come out with a statement in which he doubted Busola Dakolo’s story and threw his lot with his Pastor.
He also alleged that it was quite possible that Busola’s claims were no more than a publicity stunt to promote her Husband, Timi’s, music which he said was struggling.
In a new statement, Wale Aladejana claimed that his comments were misconstrued and that he is in no way a supporter of rape and that in his life, he supports women as does his company.
He apologized if his statements offended some and that with the matter likely to go to the courts, he would just observe it to its conclusion and be more sensitive in future.
Read his statement in full:
There has been a lot of misunderstanding due to my earlier post and Its important to clarify that I DON’T SUPPORT RAPE! I am a father of two lovely daughters and a beautiful wife.
I am surrounded by women; Sapphire Group is made up of close to 1000 women and we have done a lot for women empowerment and will continue to do so.
I apologise to everyone my previous post has offended as it is insensitive to victims of rape. Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo has also come out to refute the allegations leveled against him, it is now a legal matter and the truth will come to light.
Please accept my apologies and I will be more sensitive in the future.
It is hoped that the case stops being prosecuted on social media and it is let to run its course in the court of law. It is hoped that the truth is reached and with that as a society, we can start to move ahead.
