Nollywood Actress, Regina Daniels and her husband, Ned Nwoko who have constantly made headlines in recent weeks have been welcomed with news worth worrying about just some days after their series celebrations.
Recall that this month has been a dedicated period of celebration for Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko. The love birds began their series of celebrations with an induction ceremony for the young actress into marriage, a Children’s Day carnival that brought Nigerian entertainers to Delta State, a traditional marriage and finally a dinner where the couple hosted entertainers and their special guests.
However, if the newly-wedded couple was planning a honeymoon, then a probability that it might be postponed for a legal battle is on the high because a Court Of Appeal sitting in Abuja recently withdrew the Certificate of Return issued to the billionare.
The Court of Appeal reversed the judgment passed by the Federal High Court on April 3, 2019. The judgement had sacked Senator Peter Nwaoboshi as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Delta North Senatorial seat.
According to Justice Mohammed Idris, he stated that the suit by Nwoko was statute barred and that Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Abuja ought not to have heard the case or even pass the judgment he pronounced in favour of Ned Nwoko.
Justice Mohammed had in his judgement sacked Nwaoboshi as the PDP candidate for the last election in Delta North Senatorial district and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to accept Nwoko as the party’s candidate.
The duo had contested for the ticket of the party in the primaries and after the initial high court ruling, INEC withdrew the certificate issued to Mr Nwaoboshi and presented same to Mr Nwoko; a decision that would now be reversed based on the appeal court ruling.
