Notorious American singer, R. Kelly has been arrested in Chicago on sex trafficking charges and could face up to 30 years in jail.

He was arrested on Thursday by New York Police Department detectives and Department of Homeland Security agents
R. Kelly has been in the middle of a huge controversy regarding his alleged misconduct with underage girls and these accusations have gone back as far as two decades.
His indiscretions came back into the public spotlight after the documentary, ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ was released which followed his alleged abuse of underage girls from the very start of his career.
Since then, he has come out to plead his innocence with his infamous interview with Gayle King being the most viral of his attempts at stating his case.
In that interview he had claimed that he was tired of all the lies told against him and that it was nothing more than a smear campaign against him.
“I’m very tired of all of the lies. I’ve been hearing things, and you know, and seeing things on the blogs, and you know, you know, I’m just tired,” Kelly said.
When asked about the lies, he said “Oh my God. Um — all of them, got little girls trapped in the basement … helicopters over my house trying to rescue someone that doesn’t need rescuing because they’re not in my house,” he said, adding, “Handcuffing people, starving people. I have a harem, what you call it — a cult. I don’t even really know what a cult is. But I know I don’t have one.”
He has been more or less executed on social with even his daughter, who goes by the stage name Buku Abi, admitting that she considered suicide after the social media abuse she got.
Speaking on the reality show, Growing up Hiphop, she said of the abuse: “People don’t realise how bad that hurts,
“Because it’s like, I didn’t do anything. I didn’t ask to be here.”
She added: “To the point where I almost tried to take my life. Like, that is heavy s**t,”
