Queen Elizabeth Needs A Social Media Manager, Pay Is $38,000 Per Year

Queen Elizabeth

In one of the more surprising job listings on the Internet, Queen Elizabeth, the queen of England, is in search of a Social media manager.

The British Royal class have only recently started to get into the Social media game and even then, their content is heavily streamlined and monitored, but it’s an interesting departure from the norm that sees the British sovereign finally make her way to social media.

According to Harpersbazaar, the job pays  $38,000 (£30,000)– about £2,500 a month– which considering the price of living in London, it’s not ridiculously high, but due to the nature of work it isn’t bad either. Also you have to consider the perks that comes with such a station and the networks that can be engendered.

What does one need to snag a job managing Social Media for Queen Elizabeth? Well, the standard stuff: a college degree, previous experience managing websites and digital projects, and using various content management systems, social media platforms, and analytics tools.

According to the job posting, you’ll also need to be comfortable working with a high-profile figure, be “innovative and with creative flair,” and be ready to join a “fast-paced and dynamic team.”

We spoke about benefits and the job posting lists a few, including free lunch. “a comprehensive benefits package, including a 15 percent employer contribution pension scheme (after six months), 33 days annual leave, including bank holidays, free lunch, and access to training and development to support your continuous professional development.” the job posting states.

Queen Elizabeth, or the handlers who’d be supervising potential job applicants will expect you to “manage and oversee the daily news flow on digital and social networking platforms, as well as play a key part in some of the digital projects.”

It’s an interesting one and also fascinating. While social media has become this machine through which individuals and celebrities show off, the British Royals have so far used theirs to spread their message, one just needs to look at what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did with their Instagram to see what I mean.

The job posting ends on Sunday, May 26.
