Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo Reacts to Rape Allegations

The pastor of COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo, has come out to attempt to dispel rape allegations made against him.

The allegations were made by Busola Dakolo, the wife to Timi Dakolo, who claimed that the Biodun Fatoyinbo raped her twice when she was 16.

The news has caused a huge uproar online with celebrities such as Banky W and Toke Makinwa siding with the photographer.

Fatoyinbo, in a statement released on social media has denied the allegations. The statement said that the church typically ignores allegations but due to the fact that this one was direct, they felt the need to address it.

The statement also went on to reveal that the church would be seeking legal redress and that it is the hope of the church that the culprits who are allegedly spreading rumors about are brought to book.

In the Instagram post, Pastor Fatoyinbo simply captioned it: “I have never raped before, not even as an unbeliever”

His congregants were please with this response and they expressed their delight in his comments.

It seems this might actually be going to a court of law. If Pastor Fatoyinbo is found guilty, it could prove to be a watershed moment for the fight against rape in society and is likely to trigger a movement against other pastors who have been suspected of sexually deviant behaviour.

However, if it turns out that it isn’t true, it could also mean a huge blow for rape victims everywhere.

Biodun Fatoyinbo does have an unlikely ally in Reno Omokri who took to his Twitter to state that while he doesn’t see eye to eye with the pastor, he also doesn’t believe Busola Dakolo’s story.

In a series of tweets he said, “I have NEVER liked Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA for reasons that I will not say publicly. However, I am mature enough to divorce my emotions and be led by logic. And I counsel those now condemning him to do the same.

“The average Black African is easily moved to hysteria by excitable emotions. This is why it is RIDICULOUSLY easy to manipulate Africans with the media Satan does his best work with such people, who can’t suppress emotion in preference to logic.

“Think. Don’t emote. A pastor comes to your house early in the morning. He does not know who will open when he knocks, or who is at home. He knocks and immediately you open he pushed you to a chair and raped you in your pyjamas. Do people think?

“Even the most USELESS movie director won’t accept such a plot in a B rated Hollywood/Nollywood/Bollywood movie. A movie has to have PLAUSIBILITY. I don’t like pastor Fatoyinbo, but I won’t suspend my intellect because of my dislike of the fellow.

“After he allegedly raped her, she kept quiet for enough time for him to go to his car and get a soda drink for her? It does not ADD UP. My dislike for Biofun Fatoyinbo won’t make me become a SLANDERER by default. This story rings very FALSE.”

One thing is sure, this story isn’t going anywhere. It’ll be interesting to see how things unfold.
