Hadiza Blell also known as Di’ja spoke on her true feelings on the departure of her former label mates, Tiwa Savage and Reekado Banks!
The singer who seemed to have slowed down on music for a while due to marriage and having children is back to limelight as she has proven that she can balance both at the stage she is now.
In an interview with E-daily, she gave a thorough explanation on how she feels seeing her label go and how weird it been so far!…her contract is yet to expire though.
She was direct in her words and also defended the honour of her label. She said;
“I don’t know if you’ve heard that Mavin would always be Mavin no matter what because at the end of the day, its a tree branch and it keeps growing. Everybody has to expand and move in different directions but Mavin will always be a family. Not seeing Tiwa Savage and Reekado Banks in Mavin every day is very weird because these are amazing people that I always love having around. But we also don’t live far away from each other and we have our phones to communicate. We also see each other outside of Mavin. It is fantastic and amazing seeing them doing what they want to do, that’s the idea. It’s such an experience. Mavin really is a family. We do care a lot about one another. I am constantly praying for everyone to have their heart desires because, at the end of the day, that’s what will propel you to the next level. It’s when you’re fulfilling your destiny, fulfilling what you love.”
She also spoke concerning her four-track released EP and the experiences she’s had so far of being a mother and balancing that with work. She was quite clear that it is not being the easiest experience and at the same time, it been beautiful for her too. She said; “Many women have done this ahead of me and they did not die. God has given them strength. The strength of a woman is very magnificent. I am trying to be better, I’m not trying to transfer my own frustration on different things. I am trying to learn, if I don’t know, I ask questions but I also put my faith in God because, at the end of the day, these are amazing people God entrusted to me to take care of.”
She added that combining motherhood and work is not something foreign, as it has been in existence from time immemorial and she won’t complain, rather do her best and be the best.
The exit of Reekado Banks and Tiwa Savage from Mavin Records has been the easiest in the history of Nigerian Music Industry. Both artists left the label with love and blessings from the team leader, Don Jazzy.
