Nollywood Alive Top Movies/Web Series For The Week – July 5

Sharing with you amazing nollywood movies/web series you’d find interesting and some if not all, you have not heard or watched, with synopsis, while you go to the cinema to watch your favorites.

They are;

1.

Ayetoro Town is a sequel off ‘Jennifer’s Diary.’ Most characters are quit similar but with the message centred on the village which is now called a town; the newly Improved Ayetoro Town. The Baale is trying within his capacity to ensure his people are able to speak English, not just Yoruba and that has not been an easy task so far! It is a scene one TV production and can be viewed on YouTube and Scene One. Some of the cast includes; Femi Branch , Funke Akindele Bello, funmi Awelewa, Ayanfe Adekunle, Samuel A. Perry.

This is a 1hr 40mins movie that will make you laugh and educate you. A movie directed by Gabriel Afolayan that talks about a little boy who was sent by his parents to work as a mechanic workshop for a day after which, he is to make a life changing decision of either continuing school or continue work as a mechanic. Cast of the movie are; Ayo Adesanya, Charles Okocha, Fathia Adebayo, Sanyeri, Simi….

It is an Africa Magic series that be described as a ‘Tale of Family, Fortune and Fame’. Basically, the content in this series is about telling the African story and it is quit exciting. The lead character is played by Chisom Gabriella, and other casts includes; Ummi Baba Ahmed, Boma Elamiena, Eddy Madaki…. If you’re a lover of African stories, this is a must watch for you.

As the name suggests, you will know it is tough setting. Just imagine three mothers going to visit their married son, I believe you get the picture already……Trouble and lots of drama did happen. It was directed by Kehinde Olorunyomi and consists of very interesting casts like; Shaffy Bello, Ebele Okaro, Iyabo Ojo…….

Strong and power series that talks about a couple on how to either survive the business or the marriage when the division of strength came into play. Surely a battle for castle or castle. Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, casts are; Eku Edewor, Dorcas Shola Fapson & Richard More-Damijo.

This is a comedy family drama that is a must watch for everyone. It talks about a family who needed a bonding time with their dad, every attempt made by him was a disaster but he was determined to pull it off, which wasn’t in anyway easy to do. It is interesting and engaging. It was directed by Bukola Ogunshola and has the most hilarious cast you can imagine, such as; Broda Shaggy, Cee-C, Frank Donga, SLK, Toyo Bab, Mercy Aigbe, Mercy Chinwo………

This is a Nollywood drama that will leave emotional after watching a young and very intelligent boy fall pry into the hands of traffickers, taken out of his jurisdiction and landed a job as a maid with no future whatsoever to look forward to, but later became a counterfeit money printer that needed every means to have a good life. But was later wanted by the EFCC….. Cast of this drama are; Wale Ojo, Adeolu Adefarasin, Bolanle, Gabriel Afolayan, Tina MBA……. Directed by Akinyemi Sebastian Akinropo.

Everything happens to me is a Tchidi Chikere movie that showcases the unfortunate incident that happened to an 18-year-old girl. She got pregnant out of wedlock, couldn’t go through with abortion and started imagining things, later realized, it was no imagination. Led role played by Sandra Okunzuwa.

It is an adventurous comedy drama about two men who are in search of a ‘Gold Statue’. They went through series of unfortunate ordeal in their quest all because, they believed the Gold Statue was a deity inherited by their generation….. lead actors are; Gabriel Afolayan and Kunle Rumi.

10.

This is a web-series that focuses on the life of a young clergyman and founder of a church, struggling to balance the needs of his family, church and his personal life. The taught of all these, kept him in bondage due to people’s expectations of him and the standard he has set for himself.( The Series is currently on hold so no new episodes are available for now )
