Although, not a part of any party, Iretola Doyle has voiced her concern over the security of the Country.
This is as a result of the follow-up case on the former presidential aspirant and organiser of the pretest—-Omoyele Sowere who was arrested by DSS and yet to be released. This act has become an everyday topic in the country with the safety of its citizens as a major topic.
As at yesterday, the protesters who were getting ready to converge at an agreed venue had their plans were distorted by armed policemen who had support from soldiers so as not to carry out their plans.
This led to chaos as teargas was thrown in the air to stop the protesters from moving forward and shots were allegedly fired.
This has generated lots of reactions from Nigerians and celebrities as well. Iretiola Doyle took to her tweeter page to communicate her opinion On the case by trying to pass a message to security agents to be more concerned about armed bandits rather than unarmed protesters.
She tweeted “It doesn’t matter where you stand politically, you have to admit (at the very least) that it’s a curious case when a nation deploys security apparatus against unarmed citizens while armed bandits roam free; killing, stealing and destroying at will.”
In other for her tweet not to be taken out of the contest or perceived the wrong way, there was a follow-up tweet to explain her stand in the issue.
“For the avoidance of doubt and for those who still choose to intentionally misconstrue my words; let me make it abundantly clear. I am not PDP, APC or any of the P’s. I an NIGERIAN – Yoruba by birth, Northern by assimilation and Igbo by association.”
