A Nigerian actor, director and writer, Kagho Akpor has been reported dead after he drowned in a swimming pool in a popular hotel in Delta state.

There have been reports that claim that he was on location shooting a new movie when he fell into the pool and drowned on Sunday.

However, according to the Punch, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Adeleke Adeyinka said that he was not there shooting a movie, but rather was swimming for other reasons.

Unfortunately there are not many details regarding how he died.

According to Premium Times, Kaghor Akpor  co-owned a film production company called ‘BCBLUNT Films along with his brother Idhebor.

The news agency also added that he was the son of veteran journalist, Caesar Kagho.

The news has been met with grief with people leaving consolatory comments on social media.

“ma main man Pizzle thats what i always call you. Rest in peace my brother. Real was never real without you. Your mind is so wired to words that even when you shouldn’t write, you will still be writing. I miss you man” said an acquaintance on Facebook.

Another wrote: “It really hurts to use the word rest in peace on your wall Kagho Harley Akpor..it hurts too much to say goodbye😭😭 I know you are in a better place right now😥

“KPIZZLE!!!!! This was surely not the script….. you are the most brilliant writer i have ever known but for the first time i will not agree with you on this. It shouldn’t have ended this way!!!!! Kp!!! I will pray for you even in your death. Rest in peace fallen genius, hou will be greatly missed.

“My condolences to the entire Idhebor family on this painful loss.” said another.

In 2013, the brothers were both nominated at the 2014 African Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) for their short film ‘Living Funeral’.

It’s really sad considering that last week we still heard of the sad news of Joy Ezenobie’s passing. May his soul rest in peace.
