My Friends Shouldn’t Call My Husband Unless It’s His Birthday – Funke Akindele Bello

Nollywood Actress, Funke Akindele has stated that she and her husband, JJC, really value their privacy.

She is also pretty territorial with her man even mandating that her friends not call him unless it’s his birthday.

She was on an interview on TVC’s hit show, ‘Your View’ when she said this and tried to explain that any other interaction with her husband besides wishing him a happy birthday would be wrong.

According to her: “For me, personal space is your personal space where nobody can come into.

“This is your personal space and yes your friend can come into your house. Your husband can know your best friend and say hello but why will you be calling my husband? What happened? Except it is his birthday and you want to wish him a happy birthday, why will you call him? Or maybe you have been trying to reach me because you want to talk to me and you can’t reach me, maybe then you can call him.”

Funke Akindele is generally very vocal about the things she feels and this was no different. Recently, she’s taken to vlogging and there she has talks about some inspirational things which her viewers can learn from.

In a recent vlog, she talked about the dangers in constant comparison.

She said: COMPARISON IS THE ‘STEALER OF JOY’, IT’S EVIL, IT WILL DESTROY YOU. I USED TO COMPARE MYSELF WITH PEOPLE IN THE MOVIE INDUSTRY BACK IN THE DAY. BUT THEN I REALIZED PEOPLE’S DESTINIES DIFFER. NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE, YOU ARE YOUR OWN PERSON, YOU HAVE YOUR OWN MISSION ON EARTH, ALWAYS THINK ABOUT HOW TO MOVE FORWARD. YOUR JOURNEY IS DIFFERENT FROM THEIRS. COMPARISON WILL ONLY MAKE YOU BITTER AND YOUR HEART FILLED WITH JEALOUSY. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE ANY COMPARISON AT ALL, MAKE COMPARISONS OF YOUR PAST AND PRESENT!. IT’S CALLED A JOURNEY AND NOT A COMPETITION, FOCUS ON YOUR JOURNEY AND STRENGTHS AND HOW TO BE A BETTER PERSON. TRUST ME YOU’LL END UP BEING SUCCESSFUL. COMPARISON IS THE DEATH OF WELL-BEING AND PEACE OF MIND.

Well… We’ve heard her loud and clear.
