Efezino Majiri Akpo is a professional singer and song writer from Irri in Isoko South, Delta State. She grew up in Warri, Delta State. Raised in a musical family of six, she started singing in her church choir at the age of 9. She recalls walking past her church window and hearing the choir rehearse and wanted to be part of it, so the next weekend she joined. At the age of 12, She wrote her first song to a jazz piece by the South African music group ” Yellow Jackets” with the help of her older brother.
At age 17, she participated in her first ever talent competition “Who Sings Best”. She ended up winning the show. It was during the “Who Sings Best” competition that she met Oscar Heman-Ackah(SMG) who was the head judge.
The next year, she participated in the first season of Nigerian Idol as a contestant and made it to the top 100. Following her eviction, she went back to school but decided to try again for the 3rd season of the show. This time she got as far as top 6.
She graduated with a B.Sc. in Human Anatomy from Delta State University in 2014.
In 2017, she participated in the second season of The Voice and made it to the live show round of the competition.
As a professional singer she has done backups for some of Africa’s finest like Simi and has also worked with Paul Okoye, Falz, Adekunle Gold and Zoro. She is the voice behind some of the biggest brand ads in Africa like Delta soap.
She is also famous for remixing amd recording covers with some A-list artistes like Paul Okoye (Rude Boy) of former P-Square, Falz the bahd guy, Adekunle Gold and many more.
In November 2018, she released her first single, Amere. She is currently signed to Soltracka Music Group. Here is the captivating music video to her single, Amere.
