Born on the 15th of December, 1986, is the Nigerian Afro-House singer, song-writer and performer, Niniola Apata.
Niniola was born and brought up in Lagos State but hails from Ekiti State. She attended both her primary and secondary school at her parent’s school in Lagos, Apata Memorial High School. She attained her Bachelor of Education degree certificate from the University of Lagos.
She has always shown interest in music at a very tender age but had to get educated as that was the only way she could get what she really wanted. But, before her music career kicked off, she taught at the Apata Memorial High School but later dumped the job to follow her passion which is music.
In other to launch her musical career, she auditioned at the MTN Project Fame Season 6 competition in 2013, she got in and became the 3rd runner up at the season’s finale. With the confidence, she got from the above-mentioned competition, she realized it was time to get serious with her music, so she released her first single.
After the show was over, she released her first single titled, “Ibadi”. With the love and acceptance of her song, she defined her style of music as Afro-House which is the combination of Afrobeats and House Music.
With the realization that she could actually do good in the Nigeria Music Industry, she went into the studio to record more songs and released them for the listening pleasure of her audience. Her most successful is Maradona and the song is still very much a banger.
She released an album in 2017, titled, “This is Me” and hasn’t stopped ever since.
The 33-year-old singer became the first Nigerian artiste to cross 1million monthly listeners on Spotify, on the 7th of August, 2018. She has various collaboration with other artistes and vice verse and she brings all of herself in her music.
Most of her songs if not all, is done in the Yoruba language and she affirmed to it that, it is because it makes her songs sound better…honestly, we couldn’t agree more!
She is responsible for many hit songs such as; Maradona, Sicker, Bana, Desiigner, Saro, Oyin, Makun, Get Up, Jigi Jigi, Shaba, Boda Sodiq and lots more.
The award-winning singer has shown strength, resilience and constant drive to do better in the industry and has worn for herself, many awards such as;

Niniola’s love for education founded her scholarship program which she started in June 2015. It is called “Adopt-A-Child’s-Education ” project.
