Our artiste of the week is the young talented Nigerian Afro-pop Musician, songwriter, producer and record label boss, Tekno Miles…He’s also referred to as “Slim Daddy.”
Born into the family into six(6), Augustine Kelechi Miles has had his own fair share of controversies and set back in his career that has placed him under public scrutiny.
Born on December 17th, 1992, the Ebonyi State indigen learnt how to play Piano and Guitar at age 8. This proved his love for music which set him on the path of his career choice.
His rise to stardom has been quite a journey. Tekno started from a remix he did to Ice Prince hit song, “Oleku” but titled his “Onye Ne Kwu” which he performed at ” Julius The Genius Agwu” Show, in 2012 in.buja. He was discovered in that same show by Made Men Music boss, Ubi Franklin and it’s then headline artiste, Iyanya. Tekno was asked to relocate from Abuja to Lagos to begin his artistry in the music industry as a member of the Made Men Music label.
He released his hit song “Duro”, that was the song that gave him the much-needed recognition due to its wide acceptability. He continued on that path of hit music until the unfortunate setback that happened to him last year. He had health issues which affected his voice and he couldn’t do music for a while.
The 29-year-old artiste got back to work when he got better after he featured in a tell all interview with Daddy Freeze. Just when we thought the worst was over, he started to trend over the semi-clad ladies he had dancing in a Mini-van in Lagos for his new music video “Agege” and the Federal Government referred to him as “Scapegoat” to be used to serve as an example to other artistes because he released the video after being warned not to. The controversy helped in selling the song and video as it Garnered almost 1 million views in less than 10 days of the video’s release on YouTube.

The young talent has mastered the Act and beauty of music because he can write, sing, produce and can also dance.
He is not the only musician in his family. His younger brother known as “Spotless” is also an artiste signed to Starboy Records.
The father of one welcomed a baby girl with industry colleague and partner, Lola Rae in 2018.
He parted ways with Ubi Franklin of Made Men Music as soon as his contract expired to become a boss of himself by owning his own label, “The Cartel Music”.

According to Forbes 2019, Tekno estimated net worth, amounted to 2.5 million dollars. He is definitely one of the great artistes of our time.
