Beyoncé and Solange’s father, Matthew Knowles has revealed that he is currently battling with breast cancer.
He made this known in an interview with Good Morning America where he talked about breaking the news to his family.
Matthew Knowles has had a very interesting relationship with his megastar daughter. He managed her from the 90s all the way to 2011 when she finally cut ties with him saying that it wasn’t a dramatic decision, ‘I’ve only parted ways with my father on a business level,” she said. “He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me.”
Breast cancer is a very rare case for men making the situation with Matthew Knowles a curious one. According to research, breast cancer only affects about one percent of men with CDC stats putting death by breast cancer in men at about 460 to women’s 41,000.
It is hoped that he has a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, still on Beyoncé, while her movie ‘Homecoming’ was nominated for a slew of awards at the Emmys, it failed to win in any category, a fact that has seriously angered the always vocal ‘Beyhive’.
It seems this snub also angered fellow Destiny Child alum, Kelly Rowland, who in an interview with Extra, claimed that the Lemonade singer was robbed.
Kelly Rowland explained that the cultural impact of Homecoming was too big to be ignored and the amount of work put in warranted some sort of recognition.
“Only because I know she lost sleep. I know… it was like homecoming, the culture of it, the pride of it, the passion behind it, um, the countless sleepless hours. I know what those are, and I know what those were for her, so, yeah, I do think she was robbed.” she said.
