Killing Eve has been greenlit for a third season! The heavens be praised! More intrigue, more murder and more mind games than an episode of Black Mirror.
The AMC show which only just premiered the second season of the highly rated thriller, is going to return for a third season.
It’s also getting a new look as it will be run by Fear the Walking Dead writer Suzanne Heathcote who will act as both writer and Executive Producer.
Season two got the same treatment as it was run by Emerald Fennell who took over from Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the show’s creator.
Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, and Fiona Shaw will all return for the third season as the titular Eve, the diabolical killer Villanelle and Carolyn Martens.
Creator, Waller-Bridge expressed delight about the third season in a statement: “I’m very excited that the Killing Eve baton is being passed onto another incredible writer for Season 3,
“We can sleep soundly knowing these characters are safe in Suzanne Heathcote’s hilariously murderous hands.”
Sarah Barnett, president of entertainment networks for AMC Networks also echoed Waller-Bridge’s sentiments, saying in a statement: “As we did last year, we’re renewing Killing Eve right out of the gate, now with Suzanne Heathcote as lead writer, as a sign of confidence—we adore this show as much as our fans do,
“Killing Eve doesn’t do anything in a templated way; we love giving opportunity to three genius women to make their mark.”
The show itself follows a deadly mind game between spy, Eve Polastri and deadly serial killer, Villanelle who has taken a shine to Eve. Season one was a resounding success with two Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe for Sandra Oh for her portrayal of Eve.
