So, seeing another go to jail for this same reason, caught his attention.

We reported earlier that, the Kano based musician whose name is Mohammad Yusuf also known as AGY was arrested and jailed for 2-years and reason being that, he defamed the character of the state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje in his newly released song which had lyrics like, ”Kano governor has already turned blind, i swear what you did is hurting us, for lucre, governor is more than a thief. for lucre, governor can sell out Goggo.” He was arrested, charged to court and when found guilty, he was sentenced to 2-years in jail.

In his reacting to the news, Falz condemned the punishment given to AGY, and further went ahead to express his displeasure on the issue. in his words: ‘I hate to see stuff like this! This is 2019, any individual who feel defamed by any statement made by another person, can sue for libel or slander under the law of defamation. It is shameful to see public officers using machinery of the state to harass citizens and attempting to hinder our inalienable freedom of expression’.

He added that,” anyone who knows Mohammad Yusuf personally should please get in touch with me. We NEED to contend this unjust sentence. #JusticeforMohammad”.

Are you with Falz on this or you think Mohammad Yusuf went too far with the name calling?
