J.Cole Announces that He And His Wife Are Expecting Again

American rapper J.Cole has revealed that he and his wife, Melissa Heholt are expecting another child.

The two got married in 2015 already have a son together.

J.Cole, who is notoriously private about his family, shared the news in his Dreamville’s compilation project Revenge Of The Dreamers III on Friday.

Interestingly, the news came in the final track of the project “Sacrifices” which features Earthgang, Smino & Saba. In it J.Cole said in his rap: “I had nowhere to go, she gave me a place to stay/She gave me her heart to hold/I still got that shit to this day,

“She ridin’ with me on the road/She ridin’ with me in the A/Huggin’ the block, huggin’ the block, okay.

“She gave me the gift of my son, and plus we got one on the way/She gave me a family to love, for that, I can never repay, I’m crying while writing these words/The tears, they feel good on my face.”

The compilation album which features all the other members of the Dreamville team, has been highly anticipated and was put together rather quickly in an intense 10 day session in Atlanta.

Ibrahim “IB” Hamad who is an old friend of J.Cole and also his manager, spoke to Variety and explained the reasoning behind this course of action.

It was just a way to get all of the artists we have now together under one roof. That’s not how we did the last two compilations, which was just us pulling songs together. This “Revenge” was also a platform for Cole and me to introduce some of our newer artists to the world. As we started to record it in Atlanta, it took on a life of its own, something like a family gathering a party. It started feeling like what we have now where they’re all able to showcase who they are individually, as well being about the team. It’s not just about our label, it is about the community of people that is Dreamville.
