Change is definitely refreshing, however, in the case of popular Canadian singer – The Weeknd – it is definitely refreshing but also unrecognisable. The ‘Starboy’ singer recently stepped out and attended the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival spoting a completely new look.
Making his first red carpet appearance since he split from model Bella Hadid, The Weeknd appeared to have shaved off the majority of his beard, leaving just a little stubble and has grown out his mustache. He also wore his afro in a slightly less angular and more rounded style than what we all know him to look like.
The Weeknd’s new look comes a little over a month after he and his ex-girlfriend, Bella Hadid called it quits once more. For those who don’t know, the supermodel and the three-time Grammy Award winner first started dating in 2015, during Coachella but went their separate ways towards the end of 2015 before reconciling in February 2016.
It seemed as though the couple was back and stronger than ever because not only did they move in together, but wedding rumours became rife by the end of 2018 as well. However, a new report confirmed that the two had separated last month.
Reacting to the news of his new look, several fans of The Weeknd took to their respective Twitter pages to air their views on the singer’s new look with many blaming his ex-girlfriend as the reason behind the “unrecognisable” new look.
