Sarkodie is an award-winning, superstar Ghanaian rapper who has proven beyond reasonable doubts that he’s one of the best rappers in Africa. He’s also known for his feud with another Ghanaian artiste who is mostly known for dissing his fellow industry mate, Shatta Wale.
Sarkodie has been questioned by his fans for not having a feature with Beyonce on her most recent album that has Shatta Wale in it, on a song titled, ‘Already’. Little did they know, Sarkodie was working long hours in the studio to cook up a storm. And on the video he shared on his Instagram page, twitter and YouTube channel, it shows that this is more than just an album, it is a movement.
Sarkodie became successful in Ghana due to his freestyle rapping and does it so well in his native language known as “Twi.” And his favourite word on every song, “Obidi Pon Bidi.” I am surprised I got it too…..lol
He has never failed to mention how his family inspired and supports his music. Contrary to the usual saying of “I started from the church”, he said his family has always been a musical one because his mum is also a singer alongside his little brother.
Been a Ghanaian rapper has never stopped him from having various collaborations with his fellow Nigerian artistes and for the longest, he continually did so, which made his music widely accepted by Nigerians aside his raw talent. This was one out of other reasons he was dissed by Shatta Wale as he called out artistes who didn’t want to help move Ghana forward, but rather, they help enrich other countries and Sarkodie’s name was not omitted from this statement. Seeing that he needs to tame Wale, Sarkodie released a freestyle diss track to Shatta Wale he titled “My Advice”, a song you should listen to.
My favourite line from the song is “Confidence Is When You’re Able To Compliment People Without Feeling Insecure.”
In a video he’s made public, all those he worked with on this album were made visible and it’s beyond amazing. The video shows the studio sessions he had with his collaborators and they are people you’d love to see Sarkodie with. Some he’s done a song with, others, his first time collaborating with them!
Sarkodie is a huge supporter of the upcoming artiste and ensures they cash out so they’d know hard word do pay. You’d hear more of that when you listen to “My Advice” diss track to Wale.
#Black love album has people like the Hollywood actor, Idris Elba, and other artistes like, Rudeboy of the former duo group Psquare, StoneBwoy, Wande Coal, Kidi, Kuami Eugene, Mr Eazi and others.
The album release date is on the 26th of July, 2019 which happens to be this week’s Friday. This is such a huge deal for him and we are excited to see what he’s been up to.
