The history of Christianity dates back to the ministry of Jesus in the 1st-century Roman province of Judea and it is a religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. Over the years, Christianity has expanded throughout the world and as a matter of fact, it is the world’s largest religion with about 2.4 billion Christians who attends different denominations of a church to worship God.

Although Christians are obliged to attend a church denomination of their choice, Efia Odo – talented Ghanaian actress and media personality – in a recent interview with Hitz FM revealed that she stopped going to church because she no longer understands what Christianity is all about.

The Kwese TV presenter further admitted that she believes in the existence of God and Jesus Christ, however, the complexity of Christianity, the several contradictory dogmas and sects within the Christendom makes it hard for her to attend the four walls of a church.

In her words;

I used to attend church when i was young.

i would follow my mum to church but as i grew up, i stopped attending church because I don’t really understand what this religion is all about.

When asked about her controversial nature, Efia Odo said;

I am not controversial.

I think I am myself in a different land.

It’s your choice to believe my truth or not.

That speaks more about you than me Because you want to hear and believe the negative.

Is Efia’s reason enough to stop attending church services? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
