Gabrielle Union Reportedly Got Fired From Being A Judge On America’s Got Talent And It Might Be Due To Flouting Rules.
The Hollywood actress will not be returning for the second season of America’s Got Talent: The Champions premiering January 6, 2020.
A report from Variety, published on Tuesday, November 26th first made the revelation which alleged that the mother of one was fired after she insisted that a report be made on a racist joke made by a show guest, also, she was told to change her hairstyles multiple times because they felt it was too black.
Gabrielle was only one season old as a judge on the NBC talent competition. It was reported that she complained about several issues she felt were not right since she joined the network in January and multiple sources inside the production of the show confirmed that Gabrielle brought her complaints to the NBC executives who promised her they’d look into it but never really did.
After one season of being a judge with a host of other judges of the talent competition, Union was informed last week Friday by NBC that they were letting her go because she was perceived as “Difficult” by Simon Cowell and his team of producers.
This action is against the agreement of a 3year contract with the network and a possible extension if need be for subsequent seasons.
Simon Cowell is a music mogul, producer and a judge on “America’s Got Talent” and he was the person that requested for Gabrielle Union to join the show. The actress, Gabrielle was made to understand that if she had any complaints or concerns as a judge on the show, she was to talk to Simon about them, not the network, NBC.
Well, Gabrielle did have concerns and Cowell was a part of her concern due to his in house smoking habit.
Unfortunately, she was tagged difficult and led off the show.
Her husband, Dywane Wade fired shots at the network which became a hint to many before the news was made public. He also showered praises on his wife for her spirit of advocacy for the right thing.
A statement was issued by the spokesperson for NBC on Tuesday.
“The show America’s Got Talent has a long history of inclusivity and diversity in both our talents and the acts championed by the show. The Judging and the host line-up has been regularly refreshed over the years and is one of the reasons for AGT’s enduring popularity. NBC and the producers take any issues on set seriously.
Gabrielle Union on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, broke her silence on Twitter by appreciating her fans for their support thus far.
