Fela’s daughter: Don’t compare Davido and Wizkid to Fela

Music promoter and entertainment enthusiast, Motunrayo Anikulapo Kuti, one of the daughters of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti has recently slammed those who compare her late father’s success in the world of music to that of Wizkid and Davido.

To buttress her point, she recently shared a picture of a young Fela looking hot while blowing a saxophone on the 1961 cover of the legendary Vogue magazine, proving that the legendary Fela was already making waves a year after Nigeria gained its independence.

In her words, she captioned the picture post on Instagram slamming those who make wrong comparisons. She wrote;

FELA ANIKULAPO KUTI FOR #VOGUE MAGAZINE OCTOBER 1961 a year after your failed nation got dependent.?????? For the morons that compares him to Davido and Wizkid and any other Nigerian artiste.. If una let me ABUSE una you will say she has taken drugs again. Where sense is given sense is expected. Make una no vex me o. Morons. Where are these blogs when I need them. I am in the mood today.
Awon werey without money you are nothing. Fools!!!!!

See the post below;

Yes, it can’t be argued that Davido, Wizkid and many other Nigerian artistes are really making their way to the global scene as far as influence is concerned. However, the position of the afro-beat pioneer remains unshaken and unrivalled.

Long Live Abami Eda!
