Falz Berates Nigerian Government Over Omoyele Sowore’s Detention

Falz on Sowore

Several days after a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja declared that Omoyele Sowore, a former Presidential candidate and convener of #RevolutionNow movement – be released to his lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), multiple reports have confirmed that the Department of State Services (DSS) has continued to keep Sowore in a detention facility.

Reacting to Sowore’s continued detention despite the court ruling that the accused be released, popular Nigerian rapper/songwriter/actor, Folarin Falana, better known by his stage name as Falz – has berated the Nigerian government over her disregard for democracy and the Rule of Law.

Sharing an image of Sowore on his Instagram page, Falz wrote;

This government has shown a disgraceful level of disregard for democracy and the Rule of Law.

The Court has ordered that Sowore be released but our government of the day has refused to obey the court.

This man has been detained for over 50 days, obviously without any conviction. Despicable behaviour.

Very very shameful. #FreeSoworeNow
