Legendary rapper DMX has had to check himself into rehab, cancelling a number of shows in the process.
DMX has struggled with cocaine addiction for years which has affected him on different levels.
In a post on his Instagram, his team explained that he is committed to becoming a better person.
This latest stint in rehab meant that he had to cancel his appearance at the Def Jam’s 35th-anniversary party.
His post on Instagram read: “In his ongoing commitment to putting family and sobriety first, DMX has checked himself into a rehab facility. He apologizes for his cancelled shows and thanks his fans for their continued support.”
There was a lot of support for DMX in the comments with many fans wishing for him to get well soon.
Uncle Rush said: “Love you and always will Keep your head up”
Jonathan Mannion said: “Blessings and love go with you always X!! You first!!!”
Justin Ritter also offered words of encouragement when he said: “Getting ready for the rest of your life King. Much honor and respect King‼️”
There were more encouraging messages for DMX even from non-celebrities like this one that said: “You so much better sober… Why you don’t love the sober you‼️ He’s a great guy💯 My G we waiting on your music bro‼️ We Waiting for that inspiration that 🔥🔥🔥”
Way back in 2011, the rapper granted an interview to TMZ where he said he had beaten the addiction stating then, ” ‘I have 10 kids. I have to drive them in the right direction, so I let the cocaine go.'”
