Nigerian singer, Johnson Oyindamola, aka Dammy Krane, could find himself behind bars and is set to be arraigned on Monday, 16th of September, 2019.
The singer has been charged with threat to life, defamation, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
Dammy Krane was on a game show sponsored by Merrybet company and according to a petition by the company against him, threatened employees of the company.
He has also been accused of conspiring with others at large of conducting himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace and threat to life and also of releasing a song where he was alleged to have alluded to a breach of contract by the company.
Dammy Krane was also accused of threatening the public peace when he posted an audio and video message on radio which was in contravention Section 168(d) of Lagos state’s criminal law.
If convicted, Dammy Krane could spend up to three years behind bars.
One of his charges read as follows
“That you, Johnson Hunga Oyindamola and others at large on the 29th day of July 2019, at Cool FM in the Lagos magisterial district did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: Conduct likely to cause breach of peace and threat to life and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 412 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
Another charge read, “That you, Johnson Hunga Oyindamola and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district did threaten the life of the staff of Merrybet Gold Limited and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 301 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
Dammy Krane is no stranger to the slammer having spent a stint there in 2017 which he says he learnt a lot from.
It remains to be seen if he has indeed learnt anything with this new drama another inkblot on his career.
