Cardi B’s Producer Shot Dead In LA

The producer whose real name is Leslie André Wakefield also known as DJ Official was shot dead four months after winning a Grammy Award.

The Grammy award winning producer DJ Official started his career by djing for parties with friends when he was in high school and has ever since had a straight way on what he wanted to do. After high school, he went further to work with Rapper Joe Moses who has confirmed that DJ Official was his producer and he went further to describe the late producer as ‘dogged at work ethics, and popular, he never allowed fame get into his head because he only wanted to make music to help care for his family’.

This tragedy has however been described by an officer to be gang related but nothing has be heard from LA Police Department about the suspects at the time of this report from He was in a car with a male companion when a gunman in another vehicle opened fire on them. The other male victim is believed to be in a stable condition at the hospital while Leslie suffered several gunshots wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

There are various speculations that it might be gang related but his grandfather Lee Carter is not relenting as he insists his grandson belongs to any gang.

His mother Vera Carter as at the time of this report is so devastated as she’s only been saying:

‘I want to know who killed my son. They took my world.’

He’s being linked to Cardi B because he’s among those that worked tirelessly on her debut album ‘Invasion Of Privacy’ which happens to be the game changer for her because Dj Official brought his A game. It in turn earned the album its recognition as ‘Best Rap Album’.Some songs included in the album include, ‘Bodak Yellow, Be Careful, Drip, Ring, Money bag, She Bad, I Do’. etc.. The album has a total number of 13 songs in it.

He has also worked with the likes of Tyga, Chris Brown, Late Nipsy Hussle and others… DJ Official was among those who mourned the death of Nipsy Hussle.

Following the tragic news of his passing, friends like Tyga, Chris Brown started sending their condolences in a bid to remember him.

Singer Ty Dollar Sign wrote on Instagram: ‘how the fuck they gon’ take @prodbyofficial? Who the duck is mad at my bro? A father, a solid homie and who meant a lot to all of us’…

“we had so much fun on this tour and everytime I ran into you, it was all love and good vibes. LONG LIVE OFFICIAL”.

He was just 26-years-old at the time of his death and recently welcomed a son.
