Burna Boy released his album, ‘African Giant’ today to rave reviews and he is currently cresting a really huge wave of popularity.
He appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where he performed ‘Anybody’
He has never been more popular in Nigeria than right now with these slew of achievements and landmarks.
However, he believes that the current love he’s getting now is simply because the rest of the world also loves him.
Speaking in an interview with Billboard, he claimed that his current popularity in Nigeria has a lot to do with his popularity in other parts of the world.
“Nigerians love me a lot more now because they can see that the whole world likes me, too. They think I’m something special, but I’m not. I’m just a human whose skill is making music. Way I see it, everyone plays their own role in the world, and no role is more important than the other.” he said.
The Burna Boy love on Twitter is real with many congratulating him on the new album and some even touting it as the album of the year.
Another follower praised the album, saying, “See eh, I don’t care what anyone says but Burna Boy is undoubtedly Africa’s biggest act currently. He has composed some of the most sublime afro sounds in existence.
This album is sheer genius.”
And yet another said: “You see in this life eehhn, good market no need to much talk to sell. @burnaboy won Best International Act 2019🙌 Dude is 🔥🔥🔥 he is just on another level, he ain’t dragging lanes with anyone yet he is still making it higher on the Low..Welcome to #AfricanGiantAlbum”
