Burna Boy Bags The Award For Best International Act – BET Awards 2019

Before the year 2018, Burna Boy has been making not just music but great music, songs that will get you off your feet and Make you move uncontrollably to It’s beat, but, he fell off the wagon for a longtime due to personal issues he had to take of as he seems to have been battling with his personality and this, got fans like myself, worried and demanded to know where he was and what he was up to. Little did we know, he was about to change the narrative in the Nigerian Music Industry and by so doing, putting Nigeria on the world Map.In 2018, Burna Boy proved himself to not just Nigerians but the whole world how good of a singer he is. He proved himself to be one of the prolific Nigerian artiste on the scene and it never felt for once that the singer was struggling to get back on his feet so we could feel his vibe…He did a number of songs such as: “sekkle down, devil in California, giddem, heaven’s gate” , but, his breakthrough came when his song “Ye” received an unexpected boost when listeners went in search for Kanye West’s album but stumbled on Burna’s ‘Ye’, a song that is worth the hype it is getting now. Such innocent act, lead to a 200% increase in his streaming numbers and just like that, boom, his name was on the lips of everyone, and that made his other songs get the full recognition. He sure had a great/wonderful/exceptional 2018. Though, not stopping, he continues to win awards for his hard work and sacrifice. He did it again yesterday 23rd June, 2019 at the 19th edition of the annual BET Awards as he won in the category of ‘Best International Act’ with the likes of:

  1. Aka (South Africa)
  2. Aya Nakamura (France)
  3. Dave (U.K.)
  4. Dossseh (France)
  5. Giggs (U.K.)
  6. Mr Eazi (Nigeria)

contesting in the same category . Burna emerged the winner. The hightlight of the night, was the speech his Mum who also is his Manager gave, while accepting the award. See video below ??
