What would you do if your loved one was in a coma and it is unlikely that they come out of it? Pull the Plug? Or invest a tonne of money on a slim hope? Those are the questions new movie ‘Comatose’ asks.

The movie which stars Fabian Adeoye Lojede (Man on ground, Jacob’s cross, Isibaya) Bimbo Akintola (93 days, Hoodrush 8 Bars & A Clef), Aissa Maiga (Bamako, The boy who harnessed the wind, Taken Down) Mary Thwala (Generation, Vaya, Ubizo) Robert Whitehead (Isidingo, Jozi, Night Drive) Hakeem Kae Kazim (24, Dynasty, Troy), and Deborah Lettner (Meerkat Maantuig, Epiphany, Angel of the Skies) via 1TakeMedia follows two siblings, Segun and Omowunmi, as they battle over the life of their ailing mother Nana who is in a coma. One wants to pull the plug, the other wants to keep her alive. In a battle of wills, dark family secrets come to light, relationships are shattered, and the true meaning of love is revealed.

The movie is directed by Mickey Madoda Dube, based on a play by Jude Idada and Co-produced by Fabian Adeoye Lojede and Mickey Madoda Dube.

The movie has been in production for a while, hitting the limelight in 2016, but due to production issues, we’re only going to get the movie this year.

Euthanasia is a touchy topic that has come to the forefront in recent times as the themes of self determinism has started to grow in popularity.

Euthanasia is the concept of mercy killing, where someone assists another individual take his/her life. It is usually used for people who are terminally ill. In some countries, Euthanasia is allowed under very strict circumstances. In Nigeria, the act is a crime under the criminal code with such a situation will make you guilty of murder and eligible for life imprisonment.
