The Afro-fusion artiste, Burna Boy is not stopping anytime soon and he has continued to not just make himself and his family proud, he has also made his fans and Nigerians proud with his continuous win.
He has been selected by Apple Music to become the latest artiste for their up next program. This particular program was created by Apple Music to support rising artistes by using all available resources to give their music the visibility they need, to new audience.
This is an amazing program by Apple Music with the amazing features they have lined up for this program, which is to include; an introductory documentary shot on the artiste, an audio EP, interview with Beat 1 and an appearance on the late night show with James Corden, a partnership Apple music has with the show.
Burna Boy in his interview with Julie Adenuga of Beat 1, showed so much excitement to be part of the Next Campaign. In his words, he said:
“I am super excited to be part of the Apple Music Up Next Campaign… Apple continuously comes up with amazing initiatives to support artistes globally and push the African culture. It is an honor to be part of this and with my African Giant Album coming out soon, the timing is perfect.”
The ‘Dangote’ crooner also spoke on the birth and relationship he has with music from the documentary made by Apple music on him,
“My grandad was a DJ in Lagos, all the records would come to him first…I would find myself being inspired by things that I have heard as a kid. Nigerian music or African Music, some French music or some Jamaican music. When it’s time for music to be made, it is almost like my ancestors just came into me and then, it is them.”
The exclusive documentary with Apple music will be out on the 16th of July and his African Giant Album which is presently on one-order will drop officially on the 26th of July.
Apple Music Global Editorial Head of Hip Hop and R&B, Ebro Darden also spoke on the collaboration Apple Music has with Burna Boy and why he was chosen. He said;.Burna Boy has built his brand his way and has been on fire all over Africa and the UK, he does things his way and Apple Music is honored to be able to connect with him on this movement and help make the name even more well known.”
