Former world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua is in Nigeria. The Nigerian-born British boxer is visiting his home country, Nigeria – for the first time since 2017. In the company of his sister, Janet and others, Anthony touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos State in the early hours of Thursday, July 11, 2019.
Fans, who were excited to meet their own flesh and blood trooped in numbers at the airport to have a feel of the former IBF, WBA, WBO heavyweight champion. Although the purpose of his visit is yet to be revealed, Joshua’s sister, Janet – took to her Instagram account to appreciate the home-coming of her beloved brother.
She shared a video of him at the airport with the caption;

The 28-year-old Nigerian who hails from Ogun State recently lost all his championship belts to Mexican rookie, Andy Ruiz. A date for the rematch is yet to be announced but several reports have claimed that the match will hold in November this year.
Joshua has promised to come back stronger in the rematch after activating that part of the clause in their contract.
