It was only a matter of time before the allegations put forward by Busola Dakolo against Biodun Fatoyinbo stopped being a ripple and evolved into a tsunami.
Not only have there been more women speaking up about their experiences of rape from other men, but another COZA member has now come forward to claim that she was raped by the pastor.
In an interview with Y! TV which was over an hour long, the lady simply identified as ‘X’, claimed that she was raped by Biodun Fatoyinbo in 2017 while she was abroad.
Her harrowing tale was hard to watch as she narrated how she joined the church in 2009 and was there when the Ese Walters scandal broke. She narrated how she along with other church members filed the Ese Walters story as another attempt to fight against the church of God.
She revealed that she was ‘groomed’ by the wife of Biodun Fatoyinbo, Modele. How she was given access to their children– something many members would have given up a lot for– and how she came to be beholden to the family as they helped her relocate to take care of the children and how they were in charge of her sustenance and so on.
She claimed that the pastor raped her while he was in the city she was living and that afterwards tried to cover up by apologizing and even insinuating that he could pay her off.
She eventually found the courage to leave the church last year and that Fatoyinbo checked in on her after Timi Dakolo initially put out an Instagram post attacking him.
She says the interview with Busola Dakolo really gave her the courage to step forward and tell her story.
While the story in itself is shocking, what’s worse are the allegations leveled against Modele Fatoyinbo that she knew about the atrocities her husband allegedly engaged in and even helped procure ‘targets’
It would be interesting to see the reaction to this and how much weight will be given to her story. She didn’t mention having any sort of evidence, but this is not to say she doesn’t have any.
