Separations are never easy, and dropping off your kid at school can be harder than anything and Angelina Jolie has shown us just how true this is.
The award-winning actress and ambassador showed that despite all her achievements, she is still a mother as she struggled not to cry when dropping off her first son, Maddox at university.
Maddox, 18, will be studying biochemistry at a South Korean university, Yonsei University.
Speaking to students of the school in a video that has gone viral on social media, Angelina Jolie said: “I leave today; today is the day I drop him off,
“I’m trying not to cry,” she added.
“Yes it’s time, thank you very much, it seems like a great school,” Angelina added when speaking to onlookers. “I’m sure you’re all going to like it here,” she continued.
The actress adopted Maddox back in 2002 with Brad Pitt also adopting him 4 years later. Jolie and Maddox have always shared an incredibly close relationship and he is also effectively her first child.
According to People Magazine, Maddox will be close to his family’s home in Cambodia where he is originally from.
“He’s very close to his siblings and they all hope to visit,” said an insider.
Maddox has 5 other siblings namely: Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and 11-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne
People also reports that Yonsei University is a private research institution located in Seoul that was first established in 1885 and is considered as one of the best universities in the country.
This is why when Maddox was first accepted into the university, Angelina Jolie described herself as “nothing but proud.”
“I look forward to all he will do,” she added.
All the best to Maddox on his new adventures!
