We sat down with the talented, funny and witty artist for a brief chat and here is what she had to say.
What drew you to the music industry?
I saw and still see it as a place where all of my ideas and creativity can spontaneously be delivered to people via music and I love to call it my Liberal house where I’m allowed to express in every sound possible.
Please explain your creative process.
It really depends.it could go from creation of beats, to just mere imaginations. There are also days that I have to write about something that just happened. I am a story teller so it depends on the story happening around me or in my head.
What’s an average day like for you?
Owing to the fact that I’m a Presenter, if I’m not handling voice overs or covering an event, you will find me at the studio. It’s safe to say I’m always in front of a microphone one way or another.
Who are the artistes that are your biggest inspirations?
Oh wow! A lot of people actually. The Late Whitney Houston, SIA, Simi and I won’t forget Wande Coal.
What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?
My favorite part would definitely be making the music, that’s always amazing. My least favorite part would be the Promotion process. It saps a ton of strength.
Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?
I’m not even gonna lie. Every single time I have to go up a stage, I fret but at the end of the day, I’m still my number one chief adviser. The show has got to go on!
Tell me about your favorite performance venues Studio or stage?
My favorite performance venue would definitely be stage. Anywhere there is a live band and a beautiful audience ready to vibe and sing along, count me in.
If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
I’d love to change the way females are treated. They drain us because they feel we’re not good enough. So we are condemned before even given the chance to prove our Point .It is heartbreaking.
How you interact with and respond to your fans?
I love my fans and I’m open to their feedbacks. I try as much as possible to be there and respond to their messages or comments .I also do well to put in action any advice thrown at me and more importantly I make sure they realize that every sound made is for their consumption.
