Actor Andile Gumbi Of Disney’s “The Lion King” Movie Is Dead

Late Andile Gumbi was one of the actors at Disney’s “The Lion King” movie. He played the role of the adult Simba in the movie.

He was more than just an actor…He was a singer, dancer and a model.

Before his demise, the actor suffered a cardiac arrest in the middle of a movie production titled “Daniel The Musical” in Israel playing the role of Nebuchadnezzar. He was immediately taken to the hospital in a critical condition and was pronounced dead a week after.

On a rather sad note, his family pleaded for time to heal, therefore, seeking a little privacy after they had confirmed that news of Andile’s death to be true.

The statement from his family states that “On behalf of Mrs Gumbi and family, it is with profound sadness that we share the news that our beloved Andile passed away this morning. Andile received the best medical care possible.”

The late actor’s close friend, Tholozani Nzima confirmed to the Daily Sun at an interview that he was present at the time Andile Gumbi died. He added that “his life was cut short just when his star was rising.”

The last movie production he was a part of “Daniel The Musical” had put production on hold when it looked like Gumbi was recuperating , unfortunately, he passed on Friday the 25th of October 2019.

Even in death, Gumbi will still remain on screen to continue entertaining the world because that was what he lived for. SABC 1 will continue to air the episodes featuring him in the movie “Makoti” due to his impact and contribution to entertainment.
